Oxygenix was established in order to commercialize its proprietary product based on technologies that can encapsulate proteins and other macromolecular drugs in highly biocompatible liposomes.
Oxygenix is committed to developing breakthrough drugs using its unique technology with pioneering scientific achievements. |

| The most advanced product candidate in Oxygenix's pipeline is the world's first cell-type Oxygen Carrier (development code: OXY-0301). This product is composed of human hemoglobin and liposome which is a highly biocompatible, lipid-based, double-layered membrane and covers the protein.
Various companies and researchers have been trying to develop Oxygen Carrier since the 1970's. However, many projects have faced to difficulties to reach the market. Oxygenix is developing OXY-0301 in order to commercialize it for the following applications. |
 |
|
A GMP-based production facility has been built in our Kyoto Research Center for clinical trials of OXY-0301, one of the few protein-based liposome preparations currently under development in the world.
An agreement was concluded with Nipro Corporation in May 2006 for future commercial production.
Transfer of production technology and scale-up studies for mass production have already been started with Nipro. |

 |

The second project is to develop liposomal drug that contains enzyme as an innovate medication.
In the future, Oxygenix will be able to quickly develop and manufacture these preparations using the production facility of OXY-0301 in Kyoto Research Center. |

 |

| Oxygenix is also actively engaged in the development of new liposome preparations that encapsulate other protein-based drugs, nucleic acid drugs, and low-molecular-weight drugs using its proprietary liposome preparation technology. |
