What is liposome formulation technology?
Oxygenix's liposome formulation technology imparts new pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics to drugs. Liposomes are lipid-based vesicles artificially produced to simulate cell membranes. Oxygenix has made it possible to encapsulate a great variety of substances such as proteins, nucleic acids, and low-molecular weight compounds by using the technology discovered by Emeritus Professor Eishun Tsuchida and Professor Shinji Takeoka of Waseda University Faculty of Science and Engineering. This proprietary formulation technology enables existing drugs or compound to obtain new value.



-Customized liposome designing technology
Conventional drug discovery technologies present various problems such as "difficulty in designing stable formulations or developing the desired formulations", "inability to obtain the expected pharmacokinetic profile" and "maintain effective concentrations in the blood for a sufficient length of time." Oxygenix's liposome formulation technology makes it possible to quickly solve these problems. The figures below show some of the parameters used in designing liposome formulations. Oxygenix can optimize these parameters by taking into account the physicochemical properties of the drug to be encapsulated and the target disease. By encapsulating conventional drugs using this technology, Oxygenix develops therapeutic agents that are effective at lower doses, remain effectively for a longer period of time and are associated with fewer adverse reactions.
